I'm a pianist/composer, but I have always been very interested in computers and their potential for artistic/creative purposes. As a child I was quite fond of game design, and I dabbled in coding, but had mostly given it up for years to focus on my musical aspirations. Recently, however, I've had a dramatic resurgence of interest in the art of programming and the immense creative potential computers offer (outside the realm of music, that is), and have spent the last year attempting to teach myself how to use a variety of programming languages and types of software. I am primarily focusing on C++ at the moment, despite the fact that I find it extremely tedious compared to other languages I've coded in. Thank you to the makers of this fine website, and all the programmers (hobbyist and professional alike) for having put forth the undoubtedly massive amount of time and effort to make all of this information so freely available. It's truly miraculous!
